Do you want to help our music scene thrive? Want to see an amazing show AND support our amazing music community at the same time? Artists and industry professionals in our area have been hit hard by the pandemic. They need your help so they can continue to make great music for all of us to enjoy.

“DMV Music Benefits All” promises to be a unique event that showcases and celebrates the diversity of our region’s music scene, gives performers an opportunity to tell their stories and give advice to other aspiring musicians, AND gives credit to all those who work behind the scenes, all while raising money. It takes a whole team of people behind the scenes to put on an event so we will also be putting a spotlight on everyone who contributes to the event, from the venue and crew to the photographers and everyone else.

All proceeds go towards the Alliance’s Fund for Music Innovation and other key initiatives that provide direct support to our area’s musicians and industry professionals. DONATE HERE.

Let’s celebrate and support our DMV music community together!

Experience Band and Show

Experience Band and Show

The Experience Band & Show was founded in the fall of 2017. The TromboneKing created and leads this feel-good funk, pop, r&b,  jazz, go-go, and sometimes rock infused band. Their genre bending and unique styles that pay homage to their culture and local infusions has become the group without a genre or traditional standards of music. They began performing on the streets of DC, at the Metro Stations (Gallery Place, Farragut, L’enfant Plaza, Dupont Circle, etc.). They soon found themselves on the forefront of the #DontMuteDc fight. As a band that began on the streets, they were often confronted with issues of changing neighborhoods and non-direct ways to stop their free outdoor performances. They’re now one of the top performing bands in the Washington D.C. area and bring together all types of people to promote love and unity.

Marc 2Ray featuring JusPaul, Allison Balanc, and DJ Q

Marc 2Ray, who hails from the suburbs of Washington, DC, creates what he calls “hip hop with a message”. He has a unique vision of how hip-hop can be used as a tool to educate and empower. Building off his background in the educational field (working as a therapist for children on the autism spectrum), Marc’s music is used in curricula at multiple schools such as St. Petersburg College, Montgomery College, and more. With Armenian Genocide survivors and Holocaust rescuers as grandparents on either side of his family tree, Marc was inspired to create songs such as “1915,” which led to world-wide renown and live performances in Times Square, outside The White House, and at The March For Justice in front of thousands of supporters in Los Angeles. His viral music has crossed geo-political lines and has reached across oceans to connect with hip hop fans internationally, including those in his ancestral home.

Perro Sombra

Perro Sombra

Hailing from the Washington, D.C area, Perro Sombra is a rock band with honesty and substance.  As self-described “children of the 90s,” one can find hints of the legendary “Seattle Sound” in their often moody and emotional lyrics and compositions.  Like the great bands of the “Grunge” era, Perro Sombra has been inspired by the many groundbreaking rock outfits of the 60s, and 70s.  With this as their foundation, they continue to evolve by infusing modern rock techniques and sensibilities from the 21st century into their music to create a new and refreshing sound, all their own.

Brassie

Brassie

BRASSIE is an alternative singer-songwriter based out of Washington, DC with a sound that draws on folk, pop, and rock influences. She’s been singing and writing songs her whole life but began pursuing a career in music about 4 years ago. Since then, she’s performed at venues all over the DMV, released music online, and been featured on songs by other artists like Mothica and We Are Fury. Most recently this fall, she made her debut performances at the legendary 9:30 Club and Lincoln Theater, supporting Daði Freyr and Barns Courtney respectively. In September, she also went on a label-funded artist retreat outside of Vancouver where she began several projects with other artists from all over the US and Canada.
